Hi everybody....a big thankyou to my class for your fab card....lovely handwriting.
Good news -my eye is BEGINNING to heal and I hope to be back at work on Tuesday. I do have one slight problem and that is- my left eye now sees much clearer, whiter colours but my right eye sees yellowy-fuzzy colours!!!!So if I'm winking and blinking at you next week don't worry about it....I'm sure I will get used to it soon!
Today is dry- hooray! I expect everybody has been fed up with the wet weather....a nice dry day for the Stronord Folk , who I think are coming home today. I'm sure they have had a great time.

Ah well....it came and it went...farewell to the summer holidays. ....but hello to the new P1s, to meeting up with friends and finding out about what folk have been getting up to and most important of all- getting back into a routine----early beds early mornings..... Hooray shout the mums and dads!!!
Enjoy the last two days squidgie people.....we teachers are back tomorrow. Poor Mrs Fenwick will be no doubt spending the next few days drying out her sleeping bags!

Let me introduce myself. My father was headteacher of Gelston Primary in the late 1950's. I also attended Gelston Primary and Castle Douglas High both of which I have very fond memories. From your photos I don't think the school has changed much. Hopefully someday I'll pay a visit to see the differences from my day to yours

attended gelston from 1949 to1953/4 Mrs Corrie was my primary teacher head master was first Mr Smith then MrLiddle.

Have some happy thoughts of my time at gelston school,since thoes days my life has been not too bad got married have 4 childern now all married have 7 grankids
trained as a nurse, still nursing but in a managerial post as an nursing co-ordinator
I live in Fife for the past 30 years,and work in Edinburgh.
My foster sister still lives in Kirkcudbrightshire Iam quite often there.

I'm very pleased to see that Gelston Primary hasn't fallen apart since i left. If anything, it seems to have improved. i have just left high school before the summer holidays and was thinking about my school career. I thought i would check out the Gelston page and seen how many faces i knew! It seems like alot has changed since i have left, but i see that you still have the same high quility meals. I was very impressed with the website and will visit again.
